Shippensburg man charged with writing bad checks

SHIPPENSBURG — According to Shippensburg Police, William Yohe Jr., 37, Shippensburg was charged with writing bad checks after two incidences in June.

On June 6, police said Yohe deposited check number 515 worth $250 via the Members 1st Shippensburg branch ATM at 401 E. King St. and followed with a cash withdrawal of $210. At the time of the deposit, it was reported by police that Yohe’s account was in the negative and was returned the next say as non-sufficient funds.

On June 11, Yohe deposited check number 516 worth $200 via Members 1st Shippensburg branch ATM, followed by a cash withdrawal of $100, according to police, and it was returned June 17 as non-sufficient funds.

Police report that on June 18, a ten-day demand letter was sent by certified mail and was returned on July 10 as unclaimed.

The total loss is $542.12, according to police.
