Police report that Derek Cunningham, 20, Lebanon, was charged with public drunkenness, underage drinking and harassment for spitting on an officer, after a citizen told police that a man whom he believed was intoxicated, asked for directions and was later found by police walking in town.

His mother, Barbara Fake, 39, Lebanon, was charged with littering after police saw her throw a bottle of alcohol out the window of the vehicle, according to reports.

Police made contact with his mother, Barbara Fake, inside Orkey’s after a call came in about an individual who asked for directions. Fake was not intoxicated and released.

About an hour later, police were called to Spring Street after a report of an intoxicated male walking around. Prior to police arriving, the male got into a vehicle with a female driver and left the area, police said.

Police witnessed the driver throw a bottle of alcohol out the window and stopped the vehicle that Barbara Fake was driving. She told police that she was taking her son to Roxbury Treatment Center.

Police believe that Fake purchased the alcohol at Orkey’s earlier for her son and according to police, EMS was called and transported Cunningham to the hospital due to his high blood alcohol content of .224 percent.
